Today it is a private island, where no day visitors are allowed. Instead the seven beaches, including Anse Victorin renowned as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and the 2 freshwater swimming pools are for the exclusive use of the island's guests.
Construction of the resort was subject to strict regulations to safeguard the environment, and the preservation and protection of the island's unique flora and fauna continues to be amongst Frégate's main priorities.
Indian Ocean Lodge
Situated on Grande Anse beach, Indian Ocean Lodge overlooks Grande Anse Bay and nearby islands.
This small complex set in a lush tropical garden is about 40 km from Mahe and 2 km from Praslin airport.
The imposing main building is centrally situated and houses the restaurant, reception, lounge and a well-stocked bar on the seaward side.
