4 & 5 Star Kruger National Park Safari Packages

The Kruger Park

The Mpumalanga Province is home to South Africa’s largest national game park and more than 146 mammal species, 507 bird species and 400 different types of trees. Here we offer you the chance to see the Big Five in their natural habitat. The size of the Kruger National Park is 21,497 square kilometers – more than 2 million hectares (bigger than countries like Wales or Israel!). It is 380km long and over 80km wide. The average daily max temperature in summer is 32ºC and 26ºC in winter.

The Panorama Route

Regarded as one of South Africa’s top attractions, the Panorama Route boasts an array of magnificent viewpoints, waterfalls, canyons and even an old gold mining town. Situated on the edge of the escarpment, on a clear day one can see almost 100 kms. A must for all visitors to this area.

Our Safari's

Our safaris are 3 to 4 days or longer. We use only air-conditioned, luxury vehicles to transfer from Johannesburg to the Kruger Park and open 4x4 safari vehicles in the Park. Our safari vehicles are radio-linked, thus we see more game. Our guides are full-time, registered professionals with many years of experience. We stay in thatched, en-suite bungalows at a luxury private lodge at the Park. En-route to Johannesburg we also visit God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Pilgrim’s Rest and other scenic views.  More information on our tours

Our Safari Lodges

Guests on our Kruger Safaris overnight at the best privately owned safari lodges in the Kruger Park area. Each lodge has been carefully selected to represent only the best. The lodges consist of en-suite, luxury, thatched bungalows with private verandas. Rooms are spacious and well-ventilated and the bathrooms are cozy. The main lodge buildings comprise a reception area (with internet and telephone facilities), a bar and fabulous restaurants overlooking the bush. Meals are of an international standard and are primarily buffet-style, often with an African theme. No expense has been spared to provide the most comfortable stay - in the harsh, untamed climate of Africa there is nothing quite like these creature comforts.

Our Vehicles

To really get close up to the world’s most intriguing creatures like buffalo, elephant, rhino and the elusive big cats, Spurwing Tourism Services escorts you into this fascinating wonderland of sights and sounds. Transportation to and from Johannesburg is done in luxury airconditioned mini-buses. Game drives are in specially adapted, open 4x4 safari vehicles, maintained to the highest standards to ensure maximum comfort while driving in the Park.

Our Guides

Our guides in the Park are fully qualified, professional field guides with years of experience and an abundance of knowledge on the fauna and flora that populates the area. They also act as hosts at the lodge, ensuring that you enjoy your stay with us.

Drive In vs Fly In

Our packaged Safaris are based on return road transfers from Johannesburg. These are also included in the standard package rates. The drive from Johannesburg to the Park is 4,5 hours and the area is breathtakingly scenic. En-route back to Johannesburg we visit various attractions on the Panorama Route.

However, should you wish to fly in to the park from Johannesburg or Cape Town, SAA operates 3 to 5 flights daily to the nearby Kruger Mpumalanga Airport. Guests will be collected upon arrival at the airport and the transfer to the lodge is 30 minutes. Please note that the rates quoted for flights are approximate.
